Creativity has been part of Gina Ballotta’s life since childhood.
Growing up, Gina watched her mother create beautiful Victorian sculptures. At the age of 17, she was handed a piece of clay and simply told, “Make something.” She sculpted a frog sitting on a log—and discovered a natural ability and lifelong love for creating art.
Over the years, Gina continued developing her talents through sculpture, illustration, poetry, and storytelling. Her attention to detail and determination to continually improve helped shape the distinctive artistic style that would eventually become the world of the Happy Hoppers.
At age 29, Gina was inspired to create a different kind of children’s book—one that could entertain children while also encouraging imagination, confidence, creativity, kindness, healthy choices, and other meaningful life lessons.
She began by creating 16 original characters, each with its own appearance, personality, and special qualities. . .
